Students who commit to do the WORSHIP ELECTIVE will receive extra classes and tuition in music theory, aural training, practical performance and classes related to the leading of worship.

The WORSHIP ELECTIVE starts in the first year of study. Students with no prior experience in music theory are obliged to take the first year elective in order to continue with the second year elective. The purpose of these classes is to give students a basic knowledge and understanding of music notation (principally the reading of chord charts), basic arranging techniques, as well as become conversant with the underlying spiritual principles governing the leading of worship in a congregation.
